Iran’s Pasangan Caravanserai in photos

In the old days, historical Pasangan Caravanserai in the Iranian city of Qom was a place for travelers to rest.

Caravanserais were built along the roads as a place for travelers to rest and to be protected from robbers.

Pasangan, with an area of 2500 square meters, is made of brick and has four towers. The caravanserai is registered on Iran National Heritage List.

It is believed that the caravanserai was built in 1807.

Today, the site is used as an observatory and an eco-lodge.
